A Filipino Kamayan Feast #2 - No Utensils. No Plates. Just Hands

This Filipino tradition is called Kamayan which is a Filipino word that means to “eat with your hands”. Tayo creates an authentic Filipino feast using only your hands; without plates and utensils. 

Long tables are set and covered in banana leaves, which act as substitute for plates. A bed of rice is placed on the banana leaves across the entire table to act as a foundation for the entrees. 

Feast Menu includes:

  • White Rice w/ Garlic frito crumble & scallions

  • Rice Vinegar Cucumber Salad

  • Lumpia - Filipino Spring Rolls | ground pork and vegetables in an eggroll wrap

  • Filipino Pork BBQ | a sweet and sticky skewer of marinated pork grilled

  • Shrimp or Mussles

  • Longganisa | Filipino sweet pork sausage

  • Lechon Kawali | crispy roasted pork belly 

  • Chicken Adobo | chicken thighs marinated and simmered in vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, and black peppercorns

  • Dipping Sauces: Sweet Chili, Filipino sweet gravy, Chili Vinegar 

  • Fresh Fruit
